Having had 3 hospital births and 3 home births I am now 40 weeks + and have a planned home birth again. There really is no comparison - to be at home where you can do as you please, in your own comfort zone makes all the difference and I'm a real wimp when it comes to pain! What could be more natural than giving birth then the midwife leaving mum,dad and baby at home to head to bed and start family life together :o)

Good luck to you both :o)

I think women who enter the hospital to give birth must be far braver than I. And that's what I say to be who tell me they think I'm brave for having my children at home. I wanted a physiologically normal birth -- most likely when birth is unimpeded -- because that is what's best for the baby and the mama.

http://www.pushedbirth.com lays out the risks to all those hospital interventions really well.

Definitely you are right. I want to point out just one important thing. I would feel stressed in the hospital as it is expected but I would feel the same at home being conscious about that there is no medical help in case of any difficulty. I`ve heard many stories with fortunate outcome at our neighborhoods in Toronto but despite of the convincing opinions I find it very risky.
